Trained interpreters at the Psychological Counseling Center Herbstmühle

In 2017, the Hans Hermann Voss Foundation co-financed the costs for trained interpreters in refugee counseling and therapy at the Herbstmühle Psychological Counseling Center, as its own funds were no longer sufficient due to the increasing need. The background to this was the major language problems encountered in the counseling and therapy of adolescent refugees and refugee families. The volunteer interpreters who were initially employed were often overwhelmed, especially when dealing with personal and traumatic content. Trained interpreters therefore had to be called in and appropriate resources made available for them.
