sponsorship program for children and adolescents with parents in mental illness

The purpose of the non-profit association „Lebensfarben - Hilfen für Kinder und Jugendliche e.V.“ (Help for Children and Adolescents) in Wiehl is to counsel, support and accompany those children and adolescents in the district Oberbergischer Kreis whose parents are in existentially stressful situations such as mental illnesses, addictions or serious physical illnesses, with tje aim is to prevent such youngsters from developing psychosocial disorders or behavioral problems.

The Hans Hermann Voss-Stiftung supports the sponsorship program of Lebensfarben e.V. with start-up funding. Trained volunteer mentors accompany children and adolescents in their everyday lives and thus offer them relief and help in their difficult family situation. Need-oriented care is provided by close cooperation with the service provider network in the district Oberbergischer Kreis. The  parents also receive a variety of support services.
