MINT-friendly school

MINT-friendly school

Honoring the distinguished schools through the Hans Hermann Voss Foundation

On initiative of the Hans Hermann Voss Foundation, the Hermann-Voss junior high school in Wipperfürth applied for the title "MINT-friendly school". In September 2016, the school received the award in a ceremonial act at the University of Dortmund.

Already in 2014, six schools from Wipperfürth and Marienheide were awarded the title "MINT-friendly school".

The initiator of the distinction is the initiative “MINT Zukunft schaffen” (Creating a MINT future). This initiative aims to pool the many already existing individual MINT initiatives in order to give the topic of MINT a wider platform through a collective stand. An important goal of “MINT Zukunft schaffen” is to quantitatively and qualitatively improve instruction and lessons in the MINT subjects at schools and universities.
